How to Resolve Page Break Issues in the Sales Brochure

A guide to fixing page break issues in Fieldbook’s Sales Brochure

Updated over 5 months ago

The Sales Brochure in Fieldbook is designed to highlight the key aspects of a tour, creating a visually appealing document that includes a cover image and an inclusions banner. Occasionally, you might notice that the PDF renders the banner on a separate page. This article explains why this occurs and provides steps to resolve the issue.

Why Does This Happen?

Fieldbook generates the Sales Brochure based on the content in your itinerary. It attempts to fit all the content for a day on a single page by making minor adjustments, like slightly cropping the day cover image or adjusting margins on a page. However, in some cases, the content may not fit perfectly, leading to a lone banner appearing on a separate page. While the platform has been optimised to minimize this occurrence, it can still happen in certain edge cases.

How to Fix Page Breaks

If you encounter this issue, you have two options: reducing content or adding breaks to your content to better control the layout.

1. Reducing Content (Recommended)

The best approach is to reduce the amount of text on the page. This can involve shortening itinerary items or day descriptions to ensure that all content fits neatly on one page.

2. Adding Invisible Characters to Alter Page Breaks

Alternatively, you can manually add breaks to your content to push sections onto another page. This can be done by inserting invisible characters in strategic locations. Where you place these breaks depends on how you want the content to appear across pages.

By following these steps, you can ensure that your Sales Brochure appears polished and professional, with content properly aligned and visually appealing.
