12 September 2024: Get help fast with chat support and improvements to creating and managing itineraries

We’re thrilled to announce some exciting updates and new features in Fieldbook designed to further enhance your experience! Here’s a look at what’s new:


Introducing Chat Support

Starting today, we’ve made it easier than ever to get the help you need. You can now access Chat Support directly within Fieldbook, allowing you to reach our dedicated support team at any time.

How it Works:

  • Open the App: Log in as usual.

  • Access Chat Support: Click the Help button on the bottom left-hand side to open the chat window.

  • Start Chatting: Type your query, and our team will respond as soon as possible.

This new feature allows you to resolve issues or ask questions without leaving the app, offering a seamless support experience. It's also where you can access our Help Centre. See how to access the chat here.

Pre & Post Tour Days

To enhance tour planning and management, we’ve introduced a feature that allows you to add days, and itinerary items, to dates before or after your package starts and ends (like vehicle pickups or guide arrivals a day before the tour starts). This ensures everything is covered for a smooth trip. Learn more about pre and post tour days.

Better Day Title Visibility

Whether you’re managing a package or planning a departure, our latest updates improve your experience in two key areas:

  1. Visible Day Titles on Calendars: When viewing a calendar (whether for a package or a departure), you can now clearly see the day title on the calendar, making it easier to understand the main theme or focus of each day. See the improvement here.

  2. Drawer Title: When opening a day drawer (whether for a package or a departure), you can now clearly see the day of the trip or the departure date in the title. This enhancement makes it much easier to stay organised when adding details to specific days. See the improvement here.

Document Export Improvement

We’ve improved the way images are rendered in document exports for better page layout and flow. Now, day cover images won’t be overly cropped, and Fieldbook will more consistently keep to a one-day-per-page format in sales brochures. Please note that these changes might slightly alter how your text fits on the page of your existing documents.

10 June 2024: PDF Download Improvement & Minor Usability Enhancements

Hi Everyone,

I’m happy to share recent updates we’ve implemented in Fieldbook to enhance performance and improve usability. Here’s what’s new:

PDF Export Improvements:

  • Reliability: We’ve resolved the issue where PDF exports would occasionally not download unless the page was refreshed. You can now expect your PDF downloads to complete without timing out, although it might still take a little time depending on the file size.

  • Speed: We’ve improved the speed of PDF downloads by 20%, which should noticeably reduce your download time.

Document Management:

  • Unsaved Changes Alert: To prevent loss of work, we’ve added a pop-up alert that will notify you if you try to leave the document screen with unsaved changes. We've had instances where users made changes to a section but forgot to save changes they made to a section. This should prevent this from happening. Video preview

Guide Notes Integration:

  • Adding Notes from Requests: You can now add guide notes directly from a service request. This feature is particularly useful for communicating specific service details to guides. Video preview

Sales Brochure Banner Fix:

  • Meal Display Issues: We’ve corrected display issues in the sales brochure banner when using the “B | L | D” format for meals, which was displayed vertically instead of horizontally.
