1. Reset Chrome Protocol Settings
If the “Create Email” button isn’t opening Gmail, you may need to reset your Chrome settings. Here’s how:
Open Chrome and click on the Menu (⋮) in the top-right corner of the browser
Select Settings from the dropdown menu.
In the search bar at the top of the Settings page, type “handler”.
Click on Site Settings.
Scroll down to Additional Permissions, click it, and select Protocol Handlers.
Under Email, find the linked email handler. Click the Menu (⋮) next to it and select Remove.
2. Allow Gmail to Open Email Links in Chrome
After resetting the settings, you’ll need to re-enable Gmail as the default email handler:
Open Gmail in Google Chrome.
Look at the right side of the URL’s address bar for an icon with two intertwined diamonds.
Click on the diamond icon to open a pop-up menu.
The pop-up will ask, “Allow mail.google.com to open all email links?”
Select Allow so that the next time you click an email link, it will automatically open in Gmail.
By following these steps, you'll be able to ensure that Gmail opens correctly when you click the “Create Email” button in Fieldbook.
